QAR - Reading

For reading we learned about QAR. QAR means Question-Answer relationship. There are 4 things for QAR they are think and search,on my own, athuor and you and right.

Think and search means the awnser is in the text  but you may have to look different places to find it.

On my own you can up with your own answer even if you did not read the text.

Right there means the answer is right there in the text.

Athuor and you means theres no answer in the text you have to come up with your own background.

I enjoyed learning new thing in reading like QAR.

Touch rugby - kiwi sport

For the past 3 weeks we learned how to pass and catch the ball to be ready for a touch game.

First we practise 3 man settle. 3 man settle is when someone runs up with the ball and puts it down then the team mate comes to pick the ball up then passes to the next person.

Lastly we played a game of touch. We got put into 3 different teams. There was one team on sub then the other two teams playing each other. The focus was to run straight and make a 3 man sittle.

I enjoyed learning basic skills of touch. My favorite part was doing the 3 man settle it was fun because we learnt how to pick up the ball and pass and so if we were real game we can do the 3 man settle.

Inquiry | Emergency Shelters

Emergency Shelters are used to protect people from disasters. Disaster like earthquakes, storms, rain and volcanic eruptions.

An Emergency Shelter needs the correct material. Concrete is the strongest material for storm protection because when a thunderstorm strikes concrete nothing will happen.

The shape of the shelter is a type of 3d trianglur shape.

The prediction for the materials is that concrete is good because it is strong for storm protection.

Wool was picked because it can keep things warm.

Wood was picked because it can protect the roof from falling.

Screen play | Script | Writing

A screenplay is a script, which tells what the actor has to say, how to say it and when to say it.

A screenplay has the name of a person speaking, what they are saying, how the person is saying it and the scene name. It needs the name of person speaking to know who is speaking. The scene name tells what will happen next. Screenplays include how the person should speak so the actors can add expression to their film.

The scene name has to be in all caps. The speech doesn't need to include speech marks and the different features of a screenplay need to be separated so that it is easier to know what is happening.

It is important to know how to write a short screenplay so the actors know what to say and how to say it. It is also important to keep it short so actors dont have to waste their time reading the script.

LI: To convert a story into a screenplay.
