OAR - Reading

For reading we carried on doing QAR. QAR means Question-Answer relationship. There are 4 things for QAR they think and search for,on my own, author and you and right.

Think and search means the answer is in the text  but you may have to look for different places to find it.

On my own you can come up with your own answer even if you did not read the text.Right there means the answer is right there in the text.

Author and you mean there's no answer in the text you have to come up with your own background.

The book we did was change our school uniforms. The book was about changing their uniform for good reasons.

We had to put the right question into the right QAR boxes. After we put them in the right boxes we had to answer the questions.

I liked learning new techniques and new strategies for reading. QAR helped me with different sorts of questions like on my own and think and search questions. The QAR task was very hard.

Inquiry | Emergency Shelters

Emergency Shelters are used to protect people from disasters. Disaster like earthquakes, storms, rain and volcanic eruptions.

An Emergency Shelter needs the correct material. Concrete is the strongest material for storm protection because when a thunderstorm strikes concrete nothing will happen.

The shape of the shelter is a type of 3d trianglur shape.

The prediction for the materials is that concrete is good because it is strong for storm protection.

Wool was picked because it can keep things warm.

Wood was picked because it can protect the roof from falling.

Screen play | Script | Writing

A screenplay is a script, which tells what the actor has to say, how to say it and when to say it.

A screenplay has the name of a person speaking, what they are saying, how the person is saying it and the scene name. It needs the name of person speaking to know who is speaking. The scene name tells what will happen next. Screenplays include how the person should speak so the actors can add expression to their film.

The scene name has to be in all caps. The speech doesn't need to include speech marks and the different features of a screenplay need to be separated so that it is easier to know what is happening.

It is important to know how to write a short screenplay so the actors know what to say and how to say it. It is also important to keep it short so actors dont have to waste their time reading the script.

LI: To convert a story into a screenplay.
