Writing/Metphor

Metaphors are a comparison of two things with a similar quality by saying one object is the other.

The three parts of a metaphor are the main object, the meaning and the comparison.

An example: Jamal was a pig at dinner. The main object is Jamal, the comparison is the pig and the meaning is that Jamal ate messily like a pig.

Metaphor help describe animals, how they act and feelings.
L.I: to descibe things by metaphor.

Rahi and the Patupairehe

LI:  summarize using visualising and inferencing.

This week we were learning to summrise.

We also needed to link visualisation & inferencing to help us.

We filled in a story web to summirse each part of the story.

I used my visualisation from week one to help seperate the parts of the story.

I used my character inference traits to use adjective and evidence to help summerise diiffrerent parts.

Using good adjectives unlocks meaningful information and I can summerise quicker.

Connecting all 3 strategies helped me to understand the story, character & keywords.
